It's a myth that we older women should stick to matte eyeshadows. I'm almost 55 and personally, I find mattes to be incredibly aging on me personally (your mileage may vary, but they seem to accentuate everything on me, it seems!), while soft neutral shimmers light up my eyes and diffuse the light, masking crepey texture and wrinkles.
* Note, my photos are not edited to remove signs of my age, like the majority of cosmetics advertising does. Aromaleigh is a pro-age company and I believe in showing reality and not hiding wrinkles, skin texture and imperfections.

It's a little bit of magic in a jar, I feel. Which is why you'll never see me wearing solely matte eyeshadow! Matte as a base with a soft shimmer over the top? Sure. But you'll tear my shimmers from my cold, dead hands! I'll be in my 80's and still loving my subtle, wearable sparklies. This isn't to say if you love and prefer mattes that you should stop wearing them. Everyone is different!
I prefer easy to apply, quick looks. I apply my eyeshadow with my fingertip 95% of the time, and my makeup routine takes just a few minutes. Soft, easy to wear, sheer and shimmery shades like Cytherea (on my eyelids), or any of the brand new Duskfall Venus collection will all become shades that I reach for again and again. Hesperia and Lucero have already made it into my daily wear drawer in the form of full jars, and Cytherea might too!
In doubt? Try a few samples! I offer affordable sample baggies so that you can go out of your comfort zone for just a few dollars. Unlike businesses that only sell palettes, you can experiment to your heart's desire with Aromaleigh.
My business model is purposefully geared towards fun and experimentation, which is a big part of why I offer affordable samples. A great place to start is this range of shades I curated last year. It's all complex neutrals, easy wear one-swipe eyeshadow shades!
Don't let society box you in. Sparkles and even bright colors can be entirely appropriate for mature makeup
