One of the simplest tests for if you are a warm or cool (or neutral!) person, is the cream/white test. As shown with me (wearing only a light dusting of Sophia finishing powder to cut down redness), I've draped a cream fabric and a pure white fabric over each shoulder. You should do this test with the most minimal makeup possible, and in front of a window with indirect light.
If you're a warmer toned person, you will look more harmonious on the side with the cream. If you're a cool toned person, you'll look your best on the white. If you're truly neutral toned, you'll see no real difference between the cream and white and look equally harmonious in both.
I think I look more harmonious on the cream side- there's a bit of a "glow" there that isn't on the white side. The white isn't bad, but it looks just a little bit more stark/contrasty and to me, it's not as flattering as the cream side is.
You can apply this determination to choosing other makeup shades as well- helping you to select the most flattering shades for your coloring.
To get even deeper into seasonal color analysis, the fact that I look better in cream tells me that I'm not either of the cool seasons- Winter or Summer. I'm either a Spring or Autumn. But that's a whole other tangent to go down!
Aromaleigh's cool foundation tones can be found in the Cool, Cool/Linen, Linen, Pink, Pink/Linen and Peach/Pink ranges.
Aromaleigh's warm foundation tones can be found in the Warm, Warm/Linen, Yellow (olive), Yellow (olive)/Linen and Warm Olive ranges.
Aromaleigh offers a straight Neutral, as well as Neutral Beige, Neutral Cool, Neutral Olive and Neutral Warm- for those who are on the cool (Beige or Cool) or warmish (Olive or Warm) side of Neutral.
My cream/white test easily reveals my perfect foundation shade. I look better on the cream side, so that puts me into the warmish foundations. Historically, I've worn 2YL, but I recently found a perfect match in 2NO- Light Neutral Olive, which is on the warm side of neutral. I have greenish eyes, warm dark medium brown hair, and the veins on the inside of my wrist appear as both bluish and greenish (as a rule, more warm toned people's veins appear more green, more cool toned veins appear more blue- neutral tone? You can be a mix of both!)
