Pantone's color of the year for 2022 has arrived, and it's a beauty!

Pantone describes Very Peri, AKA 17-3938, as "a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet-red undertone." In other words: blurple. But there truly is something special about the newly created shade. Pantone, which always waxes poetic about its Color of the Year, and this year, it says the "inquisitive and intriguing" color displays "a care-free confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit." Furthermore, Pantone says in a press statement that Very Peri "helps us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, opening us up to a new vision as we rewrite our lives," referring to the worldwide changes of the last two years. "Rekindling gratitude for some of the qualities that blue represents complemented by a new perspective that resonates today, Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri places the future ahead in a new light."

Exploring some Aromaleigh options of various types that embody or hint at- 2022's color of the year, "Very Peri".
"Price of Fame", a matte from the Fable of Arachne collection is a dead-ringer, while other shades pick up the hue in the depths, or highlights, or iridescence.

Here's one of Pantone's official color palettes, for their 2022 color of the year. This one is called "BALANCED", and it's the one that spoke to me. The colors are soft, and soothing, which is why I gravitated towards pairing them up with mattes. :)

After the last two years, I think this color of the year is very vivid and positive, and the 'Balanced" color palette in particular is a lovely way to incorporate it.
