DATURA

$3.50

DATURA, from FATALIS Volume II released 8/1/2017.

This is Datura, inspired by moonlit summer nights with cerulean skies and blossoming moonflowers. Moonflowers are white, of course... but you get the idea!

This shade isn't a super intense color traveler because it's bright cerulean blue base closely matches the main color travel shift-- but this does make it a more vivid and clear shift. It's truly gorgeous and didn't want to be captured on camera.

From Livestrong: "Datura stramonium, also known as Moonflower or Jimsonweed, is a poisonous weed that grows across most of the United States. Moonflower has been used for centuries as an intoxicant and medicinal herb, according to San Francisco State University. Recreational use of Moonflower has been reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, although the weed is considered highly dangerous for human consumption. Ingesting juice from the plant, eating its seeds or drinking tea made from Moonflower leaves poisons the human body and can have potent and severe effects. Moonflower contains several compounds poisonous to the human body, including atropine and scopolamine, which both interfere with the nervous system."

Sizes available- Due to the extreme high cost of the specialty pigments used, I have adjusted sizing to be half the amount for the same price. For example- a regular Aromaleigh sample is 1/8 tsp in a baggie for $1.25. In Fatalis, you get 1/16th tsp in a baggie for the same price of $1.25
  1. Demi Sample: 1/8 teaspoon in 3 gram jar. No sifter. Bottom label only. Sets available.
  2. Mini Size Jar: 3 gram jar with sifter and top/bottom labels. This size jar contains 1/2 teaspoon which has a minimum net gram weight of 1 grams. This is the same jar size/type/labeling found in the eyeshadows of the Ephemera boxes Sets available.
This formula features added ingredients for adhesion and wear, which also intensify the color shifts and make it easier to wear and blend over both bare skin and a variety of primers. Your eyeshadow will not arrive in "little balls" like some semi-loose formulas do, but it may be more difficult to get through the sifter holes. Sifters are easily removed. As always, I recommend a regular cream base such as NYX cream eyeshadow base. Your mileage may vary with sticky glue type primers.

Contains: synthetic flurophlogopite, mica, iron oxide, talc, tin oxide, magnesium myristate, isododecane, capric/caprylic triglyceride  May contain: ferric ferrocyanide

This premium eyeshadow collection features truly unique, color traveling pigments that display a strong and vibrant color shift under artificial light sources. When they are in between two different light sources, you will be able to see the strongest multiple color transmission. Under direct sunlight or diffused artificial light, the effects are muted or washed out, and you will only see a slight and subtle color shift. They have a highly reflective/chrome finish, and they show the most saturated color effects and color travel when exposed to artificial lighting and especially mixed lighting of different color temperatures, much like the beautiful Alexandrite gemstone exhibits trichroism, reflecting and absorbing light differently in different directions and color temperatures.

As the pigments used in this collection are extremely costly and used as the highest percentage in the formulas (they are six times the cost of the typical duochrome/interference pigment), I have adjusted prices/sizing accordingly. Basically, you will find that these are twice the cost of other Aromaleigh eyeshadows. Example: a regular Aromaleigh sample is 1/8 tsp in a baggie for $1.25. In Fatalis, you get 1/16th tsp in a baggie for the same price of $1.25)

Recommended application for these is over a cream eyeshadow base (NYX cream eyeshadow base is my go-to!). Sticky or glue bases may work well for you, but I personally don't use these or test/swatch my products with them. With all color shifting/duochrome shades, I urge you to use a flat taklon brush or other suitable tool to flatten and align the color shifting component of the eyeshadow. This will create a more uniform and reflective surface.
