Corva Bella Farm soaps and glass-jarred salves will no longer be available for purchase on the Aromaleigh site*.

They are available on their dedicated sister site, Swan Song Provisions LLC. The small 1 oz tin and lip balms can still be purchased here at Aromaleigh, however. I'm leaving the listings up but marked "sold out" so that you can still browse them, should you wish to purchase via my sister site, where ship rates for these heavy items are programmed in real time:

Old fashioned, cold process lard soap.

Gemma (Saint Gemma Galgani) - Richly fragrant, for the "Flower of Lucca", with tomato flower, black fig and honey.

Eldest daughter of a poor pharmacist; her mother died when Gemma was seven, her father when the girl was eighteen, and she took over the care of her seven brothers and sisters. Her health was always poor, and between that and her home life she never finished school. Cured in her 20’s of spinal meningitis by prayers to the Sacred Heart of JesusSaint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows, and Saint Marguerite Marie Alacoque. Rejected by the religious orders to which she applied as they were concerned about her health, would not believe her cure, and were suspicious of the claims of a miracle. She became a Passionist tertiaryStigmatist, receiving the wounds on her hands and feet each Thursday evening through Friday afternoon starting in June 1899 and continuing into 1901. Visionary; she saw her guardian angel daily, and had visits from Jesus, MarySaint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows, and the devil who tempted her to spit on the cross and break a rosary.Learn more.

My aesthetic for this year's range of soaps is simple, elegant, fragrant. Lard soaps yield a gentle cleansing action, soft and creamy lather and a bar that is hard and long-lasting. All soaps are hand poured, trimmed, beveled and polished during the curing process. All bars have natural variation in finish and color due to the nature of being handcrafted.

My soaps are farm-crafted from lard we render on-site, from our own free ranging rare breed Kunekune pigs. Old fashioned lard soap is made through a cold process, using lye, which creates a chemical reaction between the fat, yielding... soap. Contrary to popular belief, lye soap isn't harsh. Soap that is properly cured will not be drying or irritating to the skin. Lard is a fat most similar to the sebum produced by our own skin, making it gentle and suitable for sensitive or dry skin. Learn more about the history of lard's uses, and why it fell out of favor for cooking and personal care products.
